Meet The Curators Behind The Magazine

Designer, Submission Curation, and Typesetting: Michael Michael

Vancouver-born, Michael Michael is a queer artist and award-winning writer; a poet, musician, and designer, Michael creates abstract pieces to defy and push boundaries. Currently based in Toronto and attending OCAD University, Michael enjoys creating from personal experiences, timely issues, and the strangeness of life, while spending time out and about at local events, indulging in film, cafes, city exploration, and D&D.


Editor-in-Chief, Writing-Based Submission Curation: Alyssa Johnson

Alyssa Johnson is a Canadian-based writer, poet and editor with East Indian and Jamaican heritage. As a queer writer of colour, she focuses on diverse representation and producing a variety of different styles of media, in hopes of building a connection to people through rhythm, writing and soul.


Editing Assistant: Kai Hu

Kai Hu is an artist, writer, and emerging curator currently studying in OCADU under the Visual and Critical Studies program. Primarily focused on academic writing, he also experiments with illustration, photography, film, and creative writing with pieces featured in various publications. His works include recurring themes such as leftist politics, East Asian culture, queer theories, nostalgia, and grief.


Visual Art-Based Submission Curation: Jarrod Bai

Jarrod is a Toronto-based visual artist currently studying at OCAD. His work has been featured in Art Toronto, Ada Slaight Gallery, and Gallery 1313. His work focuses on exploring moments and ideas that cannot be described through written or spoken word. Growing up, Jarrod had a hard time reading and writing. As a response to his learning challenges, he developed an artistic niche that seeks to describe moments that can only be seen and not read.


Visual Art-Based Submission Curation: Alex Proud

A second year OCAD student studying drawing and painting, Alex focuses in education and community engagement, exploring paths of creating that allow her to have a diverse background in art in order to benefit future students with their creative endeavours. She is an experimental and innovative artist with over three years of fine arts experience, sppecializing in surrealism, vibrant brushwork, and textures of emotion.


Visual Art-Based Submission Curation: Brianna Clutterbuck

Brianna Clutterbuck is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist with a focus in photography working within the fashion industry.
